Resource Page Description
An end to end sample that calls WCF from ASP using the native MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP component. This means you don't need to install any additional components on the web server to call WCF.

Note that the code for calling from VB Script is identical.

This sample was created in response to http://forums.asp.net/t/1323962.aspx

http://www.merill.net

Steps to use:
  1. Download the .zip from the Download tab and unzip
  2. Open in Visual Studio 2008
  3. You will be prompted to create Virtual Directory, say yes
  4. Run the solution

The startup is set to the sample .asp page which will call the WCF service and return the result.

Things to note:
  1. WCF service uses basicHttpBinding (configured in web.config)
  2. Used Fiddler to http://www.fiddler2.com/ to figure out the soap message that was being sent to the web server
  3. Used the RAW view to figure out what the soap message looked like and coded it into the .asp code.
