how to send username who logged in to textbox

in webpage build by vs 2010 i have some textbox , i want when user login success then his username will appear in textbox1 , please help me

I havent read or used programming languages in over 10 years and am relearning as a hobby.
meaning there are probably better coding than I put here.
textboxes are pretty easy if to play around with. this is the simplist code which you can build upon
if you have 2 textboxes and a button. say textbox1 is where you will enter your log in
then in the buttons click event you would simply put
textbox2.text = textbox1.text
textbox1.text = clear ()
you can get more and more in depth building on this simple code for example add an entry button or form
if textbox1.text = "your preset password"
then enterybutton.enabled = true
entrybutton.enabled = false
later on you can code cache files that can add and fetch new and old passwords.
just a stepping stone :-)
