Data Table Access in VB2010
Aug 29 2011 at 3:49 PM
In the past I have written lots of code to add records to tables, delete records, edit records and perform queries using the recordset object, the workjet and workspace objects via SQL Statements. I really like the way we can easily connect to databases in the new Visual Basic 2010 IDE. It is not easy to figure out yet, however, how to most easily access the tables of the attached databases as intellisense lists may still be missing some handy access methods, events, properties and objects... or perhaps I am just not looking in the right place. It is my hope that this discussion leads to information as to how to most effectively utilize the new latest enhancements in VB2010 likely make this process simpler to code and easier to understand and read. I used the With statement alot with .(dot) operators and the exclamation mark access and manipulate the correct data. What all has changed in this area of implementation and what is the best and easiest way to code the same using the new features?
