Can you please move the "Search Code Gallery Resources" search bar towards extreme top left of the screen, such that its not hidden during other views...or just add another option button to either search "Code Gallery" or "MSDN" or "Web"..

Please provide a 'Suggestions' location for Code Gallery Product 'Improvement' (or evolution.)
Perhaps a link to a Code Gallery Wiki, or MSDN Forum, at the bottom of the FAQ.

Any chance that we will see visitor statistics similar to codeplex?

I'm using Windows XP with Service Pack 3, v.3264. I've tried to load IE 8 and follow the instructions to the letter, but, it fails to install.
Step 1 checks for up-to-date software and tells me that Im missing a patch or SP------ and refers me to a download page. When I download the SP
and try to install it, I receive an error message which says that since I'm updated to SP 3, I don't need to install the SP. Then, when I try
to install IE 8 again, I get the same run around. Is there any workaround that I could use to install IE 8? Dukerl
Mar 22 2008 at 7:43 AM
Dukerl, It is that since XPSP 3 is not official, and IE 8 is not official, they may not be coded to read each other.. as such, you need to revert your system back to XPSP 2 to install IE 8 Beta 1.. then upgrade to XPSP 3 RC 1.

Please find a way to map direct links to old GotDotNet articles to their new locations, if they exist. It is annoying in the extreme that you have removed this resource and not made migration easy. (Grrr.)

General question for all. How do you add an iFrame into Microsoft BackOffice Live website to be able to drop code in for Google Analytics? Please help.
Jul 24 2008 at 9:33 PM
Microsoft obviously doesn't seem to want to assist but must have website indexing fast and want to imbed in Office Live created website
Jul 29 2008 at 11:50 PM
Unfortunately MSDN Code Gallery is not the place to post your questions on Microsoft BackOffice, you will be able to obtain an answer on the TechNet forums at http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/default.aspx?SiteID=17.

Do you have a specific problem you are facing? What are you trying to find/solve?
Jul 29 2008 at 11:52 PM
Your resource has an RSS feed on it's home page to which you can subscribe.
Jul 29 2008 at 11:54 PM
Unfortunately and much to my personal regret we did not have time to migrate the GotDotNet and build the infrastructure to keep supporting the links to them. Let me know if you have any code samples that you are missing and we'll upload them to MSDN Code Gallery.

Where can i get more info on Hammer ?
Aug 7 2008 at 6:49 PM
In that case, why bother to link the examples at all? This is a major waste of my time in the middle of a workday, and this resource without the code examples is pretty useless. I'll go find out what I need and build it anyway, but for those of us who don't like to spend time dealing with humans if we can avoid it, having to wait for examples to be uploaded on request is time-wasting and demeaning (why do I have to wait with my hat in my hand for examples that should be available if Microsoft hadn't deliberately broken the access to them????)
Aug 13 2008 at 7:19 PM
I understand that this not a great solution, unfortunately our resources to bring the first version of MSDN Code Gallery were limited and in hindsight we probably should not have broken any of the GotDotNet links. I’m sorry for your inconvenience.

Hi. Code Gallery is very useful, but it's too slow and picture often are not correctly loaded. Another thing: is not possibile have a TFS space here like in CodePlex for snippets under source control? Thanks!
Aug 23 2008 at 12:07 AM
What's the browser you are using, and can you send me a screenshot at firstname.lastname@example.org?
We do not plan on adding source control support to Code Gallery. You can upload different releases of your project if you want at the moment. You might want to have a look at Popfly Explorer (http://www.popfly.com/Overview/Explorer.aspx) which allows you to easily store your projects online from inside Visual Studio. Once you are ready with them you can publish them to MSDN Code Gallery. This last part is a manual step.

Hi. I'm working on MS CRM 4.0, can anyone have some idea about the how to use plugins when we have multiple organization in one system, say for example Organization A (this was the first organization install on the server) and Organization B (this is the second organization which I've done through import the organization from Deployment Manager of CRM) are the two organizations on one system/server and I've to create a plugin on Organization B, but when I'm adding CrmService(WebService) it is only showing the entity of Organization A only.
Thanks in advance.

I met an issue of MSChart.
I set properties as beow:
series1.IsXValueIndexed = true;
chartArea1.AxisX.ScaleView.Position = 1;
chartArea1.AxisX.ScaleView.Size = 10;
chartArea1.AxisX.ScrollBar.ButtonStyle = ScrollBarButtonStyles.SmallScroll;
Then bind data using
When data is larger than 22000, drag scrollbar to another end, you will find that XAxis label of some DataPoints is missing.
I don't know whether or not this is a known issue. How to fix it?

I am FS fanatic. And I enjoy wacthing anf following ai aircafts. I think that the Traffic view Board developed by Arnt Helge is one of the top contributions to the FS world.
Like wise I , have been inspired by the attempts of others, to improve sounds for AI aircrafts and traffic for FS2004. Ai sounds for FS2004, remains in need of improvements.
I am not an expert on coding and programming. However, I hope that the following suggestions, would inspire you to use your skills, in order to develop proper coding and sound effect files for ai aicrafts. I would be your first client waiting to pay for your work.
I believe that with proper coding, it might be possible to have the ATC engine, activate on interval, start up sounds, taxi sounds, spool and thrust sounds, cruise sounds, descent sounds for Turbo props; Small jets; Medium jets and Large jets ai aircrafts. Already, the ATC controls the ai aircrafts pilots.
Each Sounds effects files, could be activated by ATC clearance/instructions.
1. For start up sound:
The start-up sound could be linked to the ATC, IFR clearence request from the AI aircraft pilot.
2. For Taxi sounds: the sound is linked with the ATC taxi clearance approval, after push back.
3. For Spool and thrust sounds: the sounds is linked with the ATC clearance approval. xxx seconds after the " Clear for take off ", from ATC.
4. For cruise sounds: the sounds would start after the aircraft reached cruise altitude. Again, xxxx minutes after ATC clearance...instructions. “Climb to flight level xxxx”. or " resume own navigation ". or " you are above your assigne FL..".
5. For descent sounds: the sounds starts after the first instruction to the aircraft from ATC to “descent to FLxxxx”.
6. For landing/taxi sound: the sound starts after ATC clearance to aircraft: “clear for landing”...
The locations of the Fs2004, ATC wave files and related instructions can be decompiled from USenglishBig.gvp file.
I was able to decompile both files with the help of GVPDeco_v11.zip. I would like to know if you can develop a sound effect file, based on the ATC instructions.
If the sounds can be applied to one aircraft model, it can be applied to every single ai aircraft model.
In fact, I have been thinking lately that maybe be the sounds could be triggered by Arnt Helge's "Traffic View Board " 's flight status: cruise,descent,final,on approach,landed,gate cleared and boarding.
Thank you again for your cooperation,
