can't install the fix
Dec 9 2009 at 6:39 PM
I have Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (Professional Edition, Ver. 9.0.21022.8, .NET ver 3.5 SP1, running on Vista) and have the same problem (slow context menu when working with Visual C++).
I tried to install this fix but I get the following message: "None of the products that are addressed by this software update are installed on this computer. Click Cancel to exit setup."
What's going on?

According to what happend a friend of mine, you have to install or this message is related to VS2008 SP1 installation, you haven't installed it or the installation was corrupted.

I'm having this same problem. I'm running Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008, version 9.0.30729.1 SP w/ Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Is SP1 supposed to include this hotfix?
Do I need to reinstall?

It's working for me now. Either it worked even as the installer reported a failure or I fixed it when I was playing with the windows compatibilty mode (though those attempts seemed to fail because I couldn't get the projects to load with compatibility mode set to Vista SP2.)
Weirdness, but at least it works now. :)
