Running source code installation script failing - Silverlight 5

Jul 10 2012 at 3:55 PM
Hi everyone,

I have downloaded the source files for this project in an attempt to compile and run them. I am running Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010.

From looking at startHere.htm, it tells me I need to run InstallWin7.cmd, which I do, but the script tells me it doesn't detect the following installed and prompts me to install them, which I do.

- Not Installed Microsoft Silverlight 5 RC Tools for Visual Studio 2010
Download Microsoft Silverlight 5 RC Tools for Visual Studio 2010 (Y/N)? y

- Not Installed Microsoft Silverlight 5 RC Runtime
Download Microsoft Silverlight 5 RC Runtime (Y/N)? y

So as mentioned before I run them and install them. When it asks me to rescan the dependencies it still keeps telling me that Microsoft Silverlight 5 RC Tools for Visual Studio 2010 is not installed, and it prompts me to install it, to which I say yes.

It keeps on scanning the dependencies despite the fact they should already be installed and this is preventing me from proceeding with getting this up and running properly.

If anyone has encountered and solved this issue, how did you go about doing it ?

Thanks :)

What version did you download?

Im having the same issue. The most recent release of SL and the most recent Release of the MMP which is the refresh.

It seems like since you built it on Silverlight RC 5, and you need to do one more refresh directly to Silverlight 5.

I am having the same issue, has this been resolved? Refreshing won't correct this. Silverlight 5 RC is referenced in the code, the code must be updated to correct it. Does anyone have a link to the RC version of Silverlight 5, loading that version should correct the issue also.

I will take a look during the next week and see if I can publish a new version.
