How to replace a datagridview field with related data from other table
Oct 5 2008 at 6:22 PM
I'm searching for a few day's to find an answer to my problem.
I have a table with a field wich is a relation to another table. It is easy to create the relation on two datagridview's. But i want to use one datagridview and that the related info is directy changed in the field. Is there a way to do this?

The easiest way to do this with DataSets is to define stored procedures in the database that selects the data you need into one resultset and then specify stored procs to update, insert, delete into the proper tables to do the entity splitting. Or if your database supports it, you can create an updatable view in the database and use that as the "table" in your dataset. You can also take a look at Entity Framework and create a data model that will do the mapping automatically for you, but then you are leaving datasets in favor of object collections.
