I have a project that requires a very large hashtable be kept in memory. Currently it is in Java and quickly consumes 2GB of RAM and will grow linearly over time as items are added. Has any benchmarking for capacity been done? Does the cache page to disk using an LRU algorithm?
My alternative is to use the Object Store with it's feed forward cache which will work nicely but is not free (and I have not deployed an app on it in many years).
I have been using the ikvm VM for the java stuff and it performs very well thus I can integrate the RMI server with the cache in the VM if I must.
I apologize in advance for not reading all the documentation but I work 80+ hours per week and triage my time as required.
